In the event that you haven’t gotten a chance to see my house yet–it’s been published on Domaine and in the April issue of Kansas City Spaces– I’m sharing it here today! But as a special treat I have before photos to share, which have previously been unpublished.
You’ll see that despite all the natural light the house gets, parts of it felt dark before, mainly the kitchen. The process of renovating took about a year to finish and there are still parts that I haven’t gotten to like the bathrooms and my home office. But the main areas are done and I couldn’t be happier with it. Its so comfortable for our lifestyle and we love spending time at home.
The before photos were taken after living in the house for just a few months and were all taken by me–showcasing awkward angles and no editing. I inherited a couple of great vintage pieces (coffee table, small black chest and a lamp) from my grandparents shortly after moving in but I really hadn’t bought much of anything specific for the house. I just transferred my belongings from my apartment and a lot of it just didn’t work and needed to be upgraded.
The after photos were all taken by the talented Sarah Sweeney.
