It’s autumn! In Kansas City, the trees are still green, but soon, they will turn red, brown, and gold. It’s a magical time of year! The changing colors, falling leaves, sweater weather, fires, and pumpkin spice; it’s easy to see why fall is America’s favorite season.
Each new season is an opportunity to reevaluate our homes and make practical and aesthetic changes. In the summer, I put away my rugs and extra textiles, it seems to help the house feel cooler and more relaxing. In the fall, I bring out my textiles, so we have them on hand in case we get chilly. Many people like to celebrate autumn by changing their home accessories. But, you don’t have to go pumpkin crazy or hang up scarecrows and skeletons to honor the harvest season. Adding a few gold accents can help bring the fall spirit indoors. Gold can make your home feel warm and cozy (a must, on those chilly fall evenings). Whatever your style, we carry a range of gold home accessories that can give your home an autumnal vibe.

The fall season is almost officially upon us. Well, almost. If you live in the Midwest like we do, it’s fairly certain that the strict definition of a “season” can be very blurry. It’s always a gamble. So, we may be prematurely pushing cable knit sweaters and frantically searching for our Hunters, but we just can’t wait any longer. Fall, as unreliable as you are, we will always love you.
We have appropriately paired up some of our favorite fall fashion trends for this year with their home decor “doppelgänger”. All items featured are available to purchase in-store and online at Coveted Home.

The team thought the above Bette Midler quote a fitting title for today’s post. It’s true, isn’t it? A great pair of shoes can make the all the difference in having a good day or a great day. Autumn means leaves changing, but it also means calf-hair pumps and suede booties. So on this cool, lovely September day, we’d like to share our dream shoe picks for the season.
Melanie, our Creative Director and unbelievable jill-of-all-trades, has an earthy style that seems to mimic her easy-going demeanor. She’s been dreaming of LD Tuttle’s “The Space” gray booties and Free People’s black platform clogs. We can totally see her wearing the clogs styled as is, with a pair of thick wool socks and boyfriend jeans. (In other words, go for it Melanie!!).
My turn. Call me boring, but I am innately drawn to the classics. I just can’t help it! Thus, it’s no surprise that I’m drawn towards J.Crew’s Black Leather Field Boot and their Chunky Leopard Calf-Hair Pumps. The boots would make me feel oh so Charlotte York, and those pumps are totally something that Cher would wear in Clueless. Please and thank you.
What Fall shoes are you lusting after? We’d love to hear your picks!
