#MyCovetedHome Instagram Roundup: April 2017

Welcome to the MyCovetedHome April Roundup!

There’s something whimsical about Spring and I love how that feeling in the air seeps into the design world. Maybe it’s that pent up longing for patio season and warmer climes that’s got us all stretching for late nights (fireside) and sun-filled rooms with open windows, birdcalls and pour-overs at sun rise.

We’ve collected our favorite Instagram posts from April, using the hashtag #MyCovetedHome. These are some of the coveted rooms we could find and you absolutely need to be following these accounts!

Instagram Interior Design Inspiration

Our go-to accounts for Instagram interior design inspiration

There are many social media apps on the market, but for us, Instagram is far and away our favorite medium for sharing and finding design inspiration. It allows us to keep up with trends, products, and connect with our audience. And we’ve met so many great people and designers through Instagram.

Every time we open Instagram, it is like we’re opening a new edition of our favorite design magazine. However, unlike design magazines, Instagram is free, and it is, well, instant. We can share and view projects instantly or in various stages of completion. Of course, there are also those fun photos of friends, family, and cute animals. Instagram allows us to see all the beautiful things that we want to see each day.

Interior design inspiration on Instagram is easy to find if you know where to look. Here’s our roundup of some of our favorite Instagram accounts. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and check out #mycovetedhome to view our followers’ “coveted home”s.

From My Coveted Home to Yours

Hashtags are a funny thing. I used to avoid them but now that I understand their purpose better (to be able to find people and pictures easily containing subject matter that you are interested in) I find them much more enjoyable. I’ve found a few go-to tags that I love searching through on Instagram to find inspiration or beautifully styled rooms and new people to follow.

We’ve always used the hashtag #covetedhome when posting about the store, but awhile ago we came up with the tag #mycovetedhome with the hopes that people would use the tag to show items they had purchased from Coveted Home. It was a great idea but didn’t quite feel broad enough…we’re not Target after all. So I decided to open up the tag to anyone posting pictures of their home so we could get a glimpse inside our followers homes to see how they lived and what they love enough to put on Instagram and show to the world.

We’ve gotten a lot of great posts so far and as I was scrolling through the feed the other day I really loved the diversity of what I was seeing. And then it struck me–that was the “why” behind our tag–to celebrate diversity in interiors. Sometimes it feels as if everyone’s house starts to look the same. Let’s face it, we are all influenced more than ever now by what others are doing due to social media. I don’t know about you, but for me once I’ve seen the same trend gone viral (hello fiddle leaf fig, white shag moroccan style rugs, white sheepskin thrown over white plastic molded chair at white parsons desk…I could go on) I’m over it real quick.

It’s always been my mission (the ‘why’ behind Coveted Home) to enrich others lives by helping them add comfort, beauty and individuality to their homes. And my number one priority is always that my clients LOVE everything we put in their house. What they love may not always line up with what I love, but thats ok. In fact, more than ever, I’m interested in seeing something new, something that maybe I wouldn’t have originally loved but can now appreciate from another perspective. I want to celebrate diversity in interiors, so join us and show us your unique style by using #mycovetedhome and we’ll be sharing those that stand out to us!
