Hello! I attended college in Durango, Colorado and Costa Mesa, California, earning degrees in Humanities, Environmental Policy and Interior Design. After spending time in both locations for over a decade, I returned home to Kansas City in 2008 to open my first interior design studio and retail showroom, which I operated until the summer of 2019. After ten years of operating a design centered retail shop, I made the hard decision to close the doors. I’ve continued to do design work and also spend time working on the scent & lifestyle brand my sister and I debuted in 2020 - Jack’s Daughters. I’m a devoted small business shopper/patron, I boycotted Amazon in 2018 and haven’t looked back once. I love spending time outside and generally trying to slow down. I’ve fully embraced buying less when it comes to fashion or home decor, and generally invest in quality when I do purchase. It’s an old adage that as a culture we seem to have drifted from, but I’m here to advocate for buy less, but better. I look forward to sharing my interests and endeavors with you here, where I hope to inspire others to shop local, make thoughtful purchases and have a little fun with your decor.

For years I had been trying to figure out a way to collaborate with my sister Amanda on a creative endeavor. We both went to school for interior design and both have worked in retail for many years. As I’d had some experience at developing and selling scented home goods (candles, diffusers, incense, potpourri) in my retail shop, and loved finding unique lines to carry in my store, it only made sense to expand upon the concept. I knew these were also interests of my sister, so I came up with the name - Jack’s Daughters - to commemorate our late father, Jack - and coerced her into diving into this business with me! She has a keen eye for design and impeccable taste. I have a lot of ideas, but my direction can ramble sometimes, so I knew we’d balance each other out well. We’re still working on developing the line more - such as adding more scents as well as other lifestyle products. Our focus is on goods that are made in small batches/not over produced, made with minimal plastic packaging and can be recycled. All of our products are made in the USA, most are made right here in Kansas City.

The line can be found at our studio in the River Market, select retailers and by visiting the online shop.
